Workshop Title: “The Courage to Be Happy” – The Pendulum of Process and Outcome: Interchanges between Forum Theatre and Drama in Education

Description: It can be said that the relationship between the oppressor and the oppressed in human life operates in a cyclical structure. “The courage to be happy” is seen as an understanding that can break this cycle. Within the scope of this workshop, the organic connection between Forum Theatre and Drama in Education will be explored through applied activities.
Throughout the workshop, fictional dramatic situations that involve oppressor–oppressed relationships will be enacted, and discussion environments will be created to examine how the roles within these relationships influence each other as process and outcome. By focusing on certain activities commonly used in Forum Theatre and Drama in Education, a shared story will be developed, leading to an experiential staging process of Forum Theatre.
As Augusto Boal once said: “Have the courage to be happy.”
