Workshop Title: From Process to Product
Duration: 3 hours
Description: This workshop is designed in a two-stage structure that involves the creation of an original dramatic text together with the participants, its dramaturgical analysis, and its staging process. The main aim of the workshop is to experience, with the participants, the dynamic relationship between “process” and “product” in creative drama practices in education, and to open a discussion on the pedagogical, aesthetic, and artistic dimensions of this relationship.
In the first part of the workshop, a fictional scenario will be produced by employing creative drama techniques. The resulting dramatic draft will be a polyphonic and collective product shaped by the contributions of the participants.
In the second part, this dramatic draft developed in the first stage will be subjected to dramaturgical examination. Work will focus on thematic integrity, dramatic structure, character relationships, and aesthetic dimensions. At this stage, participants will gain staging experience by transforming this scenario-like draft into short performance pieces.
The workshop approaches the liberating and transformative power of the process and the aesthetic, shareable quality of the product as mutually enriching elements. Participants will both experience a process-oriented learning journey through creative drama and discover the function of dramaturgy in transforming the process into a product, thereby gaining firsthand insight into how process evolves into performance.
