Yasin Yürekli
After graduating from the Department of Theatre at the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, Ankara University, she completed her studies at The Commedia School in Denmark—a Lecoq-based physical theatre and acting school. She received Commedia dell’Arte training from Antonio Fava in Italy and attended programs on puppetry and dance in Hungary and Russia.
She has taught acting, drama, puppetry, dance, clowning, and movement in various theatres and institutions, and has conducted workshops at numerous national and international festivals and organizations. Since 2012, she has performed as an actress in a variety of theatre companies across Turkey.
In 2016, she directed her first play for the State Theatres of Turkey. Following that, she directed productions for several theatre institutions, including Dof Theatre, Moda Sahnesi, İzmir City Theatre, Diyarbakır City Theatre, Çek Sanat, and Yol Atölye.
Her artistic research focuses on acrobatics, mime, contemporary movement practices, and diverse acting techniques. She has worked with and occasionally assisted renowned masters in these fields.
Having returned from Copenhagen, where she had lived since 2014, she settled in Istanbul in 2021. In addition to leading workshops at various theatre departments across Turkey, she has taught acting and movement as a lecturer at Maltepe University’s Department of Theatre.
For the past twelve years, she has continued her creative research and collaborations with different theatre collectives both in Turkey and abroad.
